Welcome to anmoe.com!

anmoe.com is a log of my photo experiments, readings, and personal projects!

anmoe.com, while not actually registered to anmoe.com, is my personal website for logging and archival and for sharing information about alternative process photography on a budget.

Unfortunately, this website is NOT mobile-friendly, and while I'm working to rectify that it will likely not be for a while. It looks okay on my desktop monitor and laptop monitor, though, and those are what I calibrate for.

About the Anmoe!

Hello! I am 19 years old and operating out of Southeastern VA, in the United States. I've been doing photography for about four years, though never professionally, 3D modeling for three, and alt-process printing since December 2023.

My main interests in alt process are Carbon, Gum Bichromate, Talbot-Klic photogravure, and handmade silver-gelatin, mostly because I can't afford platinum/palladium and already have some potassium dichromate lying around. At time of writing (8/26/2024), I've just acquired a beautiful but battered 1920s Seneca Competitor View in 5x7 that I'm adapting an X-ray lens to fit.

A lot of the reason for the colors of this website is my current alt process experience making Vandyke brown prints through digital and X-ray negatives. I am now a committed digital negative hater, just to stay away from the computer as much as possible, so I enlarge onto X-ray film with a Rollei Nikor 6x7 enlarger. At the moment, I shoot 35mm and 5x7 on a Contax RTS III and a Minox 35 GT, and large format on the aforementioned Seneca.

If you'd like to reach out, my email is surajksp2023@gmail.com.

I think for now I will be uploading process manuals, links to resources, and other things I find interesting (within reason). My biggest restriction here is the 1GB upload limit, otherwise I'd go wild. I plan to fill this almost entirely with more text than I could possibly imagine. The alt process Library of Babel. I wonder how much I can do with embeds and off-site links. Scroll down for this site's links! This website is a work in progress. Visit the Darkroom Logbook first if you want to see what I've been working on!
